Finding a German job from abroad
A job offer unlocks the fastest, most secure visa routes (Blue Card, § 18b). Here is how to get one from abroad.
- Target English-friendly employers: startups (Berlin, Munich), international corporates, and shortage sectors (IT, engineering, health).
- Use LinkedIn, StepStone, Xing, and Make-it-in-Germany’s job board. Mention you qualify for the Blue Card — it reassures HR.
- Prepare a German-style CV (one to two pages, photo optional, structured, no typos).
- Ask employers about the accelerated skilled-worker procedure (§ 81a) — it can cut visa waiting time significantly.
